
Mary Ruth Myers, 75, of Tonkawa, Oklahoma passed
away September 26, 2007 in her home. Mary Ruth was
born September 28, 1931 on the farm southwest of
Tonkawa, Oklahoma to Mike and Ruth (Wilson) Roach.
Mary Ruth grew up in Tonkawa graduating from Tonkawa
High School and N.O.J.C. with an Associate degree;
then attended O.S.U. for a year. She was a member of
the Catholic Church.
Mary Ruth was a wheat farmer and in the 70’s was
appointed to the Agriculture Adviser Commission by
Gov. Nigh. She moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1983
living there for several years before moving to
Alaska for four years; coming back to Tonkawa in
2006 to settle in for her reclining years with Jack
as her companion.
Anyone who
has visited Mary Ruth would enjoy seeing her
paintings and talking about her travels.
She is
survived by her long time friend and companion, Jack
Harris of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; Roseanna Wilson of
Tulsa, Oklahoma; various family members and
friends.
She is
preceded in death by her parents and her
grandparents.
A Memorial
service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2007
in the Chapel of the Tonkawa Funeral Home with Rev.
Michael Brannon officiating. Arrangements are
under the direction of Tonkawa Funeral Home,
Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
