
Tommye Lou
Rider, 79, long time resident of Tonkawa, Oklahoma
passed away in her home Sunday, October 5, 2008. Tommye
was born August 20, 1929 at Altus, Oklahoma to John
Thomas and Minnie J. (Putt) Holley.
Tommye grew up in Carter, Oklahoma moving to Tonkawa
in 1944; she went to school in both towns. She
married James H. “Bob” Rider August 13, 1946 in
Winfield, Kansas celebrating 62 years of marriage
this year.
Tommye worked for Bus Roberts Insurance then went to
work for McKenzie Noles Insurance both in Tonkawa
retiring after 33 years in the insurance business.
She was a member of the Insurance Women’s
Association. She worked part time for the Tonkawa
Chamber of Commerce and was volunteer for the
Tonkawa Museum for many years. She was a member of
the Tonkawa Church of Christ.
She was a good mother, wife, sister and friend. She
loved her family most of all and she will be greatly
missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her a husband, Bob of the home;
her daughter, Dani May and her husband, Chris of
Arlington, Texas; her sisters, Kay Sones and her
husband, Ed of Austin, Texas, Saundra Noles and her
husband, Don of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her
grandchildren, Martin Daniel Louthan and his wife,
Kylie of Rowlett, Texas, Jamie Layne Louthan of
Arlington, Texas; her great grandchildren, Addyson,
Layla Jo Louthan and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Holley and a sister Peggy Behar.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 9,
2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of Christ Church,
Tonkawa, Oklahoma, with Glenn Cope officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tonkawa
Funeral Home, Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
