Thurman Jeff Thompson, 49, of Tonkawa passed away peacefully at his home December 18, 2008.  Thurman was born December 18, 1960 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Theodore and Elaine Thompson, Sr.

Thurman graduated from Tonkawa High School and then served in the Marine Corp. He was a member of the Ponca Tribe.

Family visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. til 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Tonkawa Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Michael Flores officiating in the Chapel of the Tonkawa Funeral Home, Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

Thurman’s favorite past time growing up was playing basketball and pool. He also loved visiting friends when he could throughout his life. He will be miss by all who knew him.

He is survived by his father, Theodore Thompson, Sr. of Blackwell, Oklahoma; wife, Antoinette Thompson of New Mexico; two sons, Mitchell and Christopher Buss; a daughter, Clarisa (Thompson) Buss; his brothers, Theodore Thompson, Jr. of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, Jason Thompson of Ponca City, Oklahoma; his sister, Dani Edwards of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; his a grand son; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Thompson; his grandfathers, Esias Thompson and Jesse Grant I; his grandmothers Dollie (Rhodd) Thompson and Lettia (Whitestar) Warrior.
