
Melvin “Cowboy” S. Allen, 59, of Tonkawa, Oklahoma
passed away April 21, 2009 at Ponca City Medical
Center, Ponca City, Oklahoma. Melvin was born May
2, 1949 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Melvin S. and Gloria
M. (Moncooyea) Allen, Sr.
Melvin attended school in Enid, Oklahoma and worked
in the oil fields as a welder.
Melvin enjoyed playing golf and watching football.
He love to sit around talking and having fun with
his family and friends at Ft. Oakland; also going to
the casino.
A Wake will be held at the Tonkawa Tribal Gymnasium,
Thursday evening, April 23, 2009 and all day Friday,
April 24, 2009 with a Feast Saturday, April 25, 2009
at 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tonkawa
Funeral Home, Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his brothers, Charles Paul and
Samuel Joseph Allen of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; his
sisters, Joyce Marie Beard and her husband, Michael
of Ft. Worth, Texas, Tina, Reba, Eva Mae and Stacy
Denise Allen all of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; his nephews,
Charles Lee Allen, Floyd Dean Allen, and Garbiel
Propper all of Tonkawa and his nieces, Jennifer
Beard of Ft. Worth, Texas and Theresa Rhoda of
Tonkawa, Oklahoma; and numerous other family
members.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carline Allen,
his son, Melvin S. Allen, III, his daughter, Tammy
Bernice Allen; his parents; his brothers, Floyd,
Aaron (Hoot) and Glenn Odell Allen; his sisters, Zoe
Rose and Adjanett Allen.
