As some of you will remember, I delivered the daily paper to Katherine and Warren throughout my high-school years, so we exchanged more than the usual number of pleasantries. Though I never told her, I've always appreciated the fact that she treated me not as just the pimple-faced adolescent I was, but as a contemporary, as a credible member of our Lamont society, as the adult I would one day become. Every time she made me--and many others, I'm sure--feel our "validity" in this world, she placed a small stone in the foundation of Civilization. She made a difference; she mattered. Rest now, Katherine. I will always remember you with gratitude, a smile...and now, sadly, a tear.

Katherine was a very warm and loving person. even though we saw each other only a few times the past years, she was and is in our thoughts and prayers,always.
I once had the privilege of being her daughter -in-law. She always treated everyone with kindness, she truly was the best mother in law anyone could ask for.
She has always been in my thoughts and prayers, and will always remain in my heart. She certainly was a loving grandmother, and though she didn't see some of her grandchildren and get to know them, they love her very much. your entire family is in our thoughts and prayers.
