
Laurence Daniel “Larry” Dunn went to be with his
Lord May 9, 2008 at age 71. Larry was born July 9,
1936 in Lost Creek, Pennsylvania to Lawrence and
Helen Dunn.
Larry graduated high school from West Mahanoy High
in Shenandoah Heights, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in
the U.S. Army June 1961 serving thru October 1973.
He served during the Vietnam War as a Medical
Specialist, transporting fallen comrades off the
battle field where he was wounded in action. He
received the Good Conduct Medal. Larry was a true
Hero.
His family and friends will remember him for his dry
sense of humor and his giving heart when it came to
assisting others.
Larry came to Tonkawa where he made his home. He
married Betty Morgan March 26, 1988 and she preceded
him in death October 1, 1999. His parents also
preceded him in death. Larry was employed at
Tonkawa’s Dollar General since October 2, 2000; he
was instrumental in setting the store up.
A Memorial service will be Saturday, May 17, 2008 at
10:00 a.m. in the Tonkawa Funeral Home Chapel,
Tonkawa, Oklahoma with Father Larok Obwana Martin
officiating. Interment will follow in the Tonkawa
I.O.O.F. Cemetery. A fellowship will follow in the
Tonkawa Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the
direction of Tonkawa Funeral Home, Tonkawa,
Oklahoma.
He is survived by his step daughter, Kelle Robison
and her husband, William of Ponca City, Oklahoma;
step son, Rodney Morgan and his wife, Kori of
Wichita, Kansas; step grandson, Cody Warner and his
wife, Whitney of Guthrie, Oklahoma; a step
grandchild, Adelyn Warner.
Memorials may be made to Tonkawa St. Joseph Catholic
Church in care of Tonkawa Funeral Home, 400 E. Grand
Ave. Tonkawa, Oklahoma 74653.
