LaRoseia "Rose" Y. Appleton, 53, of Ponca City,  Oklahoma,  passed away June 22, 2010 in St Francis Via Christi Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.  Rose was born February 15, 1957 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Tome F. and Yvonne (Greene) Montgomery, Sr.

Rose lived in Ponca City all her life, attending Ponca City School, working at Albertson's for thirteen years and at the Elks Lodge for several years.  She enjoyed going camping but her greatest love was for her children and grandchildren.

Rose requested to be cremated.  Arrangements are under the direction of Tonkawa Funeral Home, Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

Rose is survived by mother, Yvonne Montgomery of Ponca City; her son, Christopher Montgomery of TX; her daughter, Santana Clay and her husband, Jonathan of Ponca City; her sisters, Dorothy Barrow of Fruitland, MD., Esther Bales, Brenda Benson and Maxine Epperly all of Ponca City; her brother, Tome F. Montgomery, Jr. of Ponca City; six grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

Rose is preceded in death by her father Tome Flannagan Montgomery, Sr. and one grandson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Tonkawa Funeral Home to assist the family, 400 E. Grand Ave., Tonkawa, Oklahoma 74653.
