
Joseph Curtis “Troy” Combrink, 44, resident of
Tonkawa passed away surrounded by family and friends
at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma
City on Monday, May 11, 2009. Joseph was born to Joe
and Virginia (Street) Combrink at Pawnee, Oklahoma
on April 13, 1965. Joseph truly believed that God is
the creator of heaven and earth and that he forgives
all sins.
Joseph attended school in Billings and Tonkawa; he
was a resident of Fort Oakland and employed with the
Tonkawa Tribe.
Joseph is an enrolled member of the Tonkawa Tribe
and descendent of Chief Big Elk of the Ponca Tribe.
He is a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in
Tonkawa.
Joseph was a loving son, father, brother,
grandfather, uncle and friend. He enjoyed being with
family and friends and he enjoyed watching football.
He was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins and he
enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley.
He is survived by his long time companion Cindi
Warrior; his daughter, Briana Combrink; his
grandson, Bryson Presley Williams; his parents,
Virginia and Rod Swanson of Ponca City; one sister,
Josette Mimbela and her husand, Ruben; his Uncle
Willie Street, Sr.; and numerous other family
members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe C.
Combrink; a brother, Christopher Monty Combrink; a
nephew, Travis Combrink; grandparents Bill and Jewel
Combrink and grandparents, Naomi (Allen) and Jesse
Street; his Uncle Anthony A. Street; and his Aunt
Linda Propper.
A rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. May 13, 2009 with
prayer service at 8:00 p.m. in the Tonkawa Tribal
Gym with funeral services Thursday, May 14, 2009 at
10:00 a.m. in the Saint Joseph Catholic Church in
Tonkawa with Father Obwana Martin officiating.
Interment will be in the Tonkawa Tribal Cemetery. A
traditional Indian feast will be at noon.
Pallbearers will be Anthony E. Street, Eddie Street,
Michael Belt, Gabriel Propper, T.J. Martin, Chris
Mills. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Berman and
Sammy Joe Allen.

the care of Tonkawa Funeral Home, 400 E. Grand Ave.,
Tonkawa, Oklahoma 74653.
