Dale Ray Simpson, 74, life long resident of Tonkawa, passed away December 22, 2009 at OU Medical Center, Oklahoma City. A Memorial service will be Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Tonkawa with Dr. Richard Thomasson officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Tonkawa Funeral Home, Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

Dale was born January 13, 1935 at the family farm in Tonkawa to Alfred and Gladys Simpson. Dale graduated from Tonkawa High School, then Northern Oklahoma College and Northwestern Oklahoma State University.  He earned his Master’s Degree at Oklahoma State University. Dale spent 39 fulfilling years teaching and coaching at Tonkawa High School.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Grace; son Shon and wife Connie Simpson; daughter Heather and husband Jim Schreen; son Eric and wife Anita Simpson; his brother, Roy “PG” Simpson; sister Mina and husband Jerry Legg; his grandchildren, Caleb Wetmore and wife Lauren, Jason Andrew “Drew” Simpson, Tyler Simpson, Shawna Schreen, Weslee Simpson, Reece Simpson, Owen Simpson and Ryan Schreen; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Mary Simpson and niece Sundy Plagmann.  

Memorials may be made to the Tonkawa First Baptist Church in care of Tonkawa Funeral Home, 400 E. Grand Ave. Tonkawa, Oklahoma 74653.
