Cathy Watson, 58, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Tonkawa, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Baptist Hospital, Oklahoma City. Cathy was born on December 18, 1954 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Jesse and Ona Belle (Cathey) Watson.
Cathy grew up in Tonkawa, graduating from Tonkawa High School and then NOC with an Associate Degree. She was Student Body President her senior year of high school and taught stain glass classes at NOC for several years. Cathy was a member of the First Christian Church, the National and Oklahoma Honor Society.
Cathy enjoyed cooking, canning, she had beautiful flower gardens, she was a very accomplished artist in painting and stain glass, and a great love of dogs. Cathy was a very loving daughter taking care of her mother devotedly after her father passed away. She was very involved with her grandniece, Eloise.
Cathy is survived by her mother, Ona Belle Watson of Tonkawa, OK; her brothers, Terry Watson and his wife, Linda of Ponca City, OK, Lynn Watson and his wife, Pamela of Coolidge, AZ; her sister, Nelda Fry and her husband, Nevin of Edmond, OK.; and numerous other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her father Jesse Lynn Watson.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Christian Life Church, Tonkawa, OK with Rev. Paul Krueger of Woodlands Christian Church of Ponca City officiating. Interment will follow in the Tonkawa I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home, Tonkawa, OK.
